2008 - A year of growth and improvements
In 2007 the custom collection program at Alta
Genetics experienced growth and change that this industry has never
experienced before. With the purchase of the Independent
Breeders Program we doubled in size overnight; literally.
Some of the more significant changes and
additions to the program
1)
Staffing
We have added some key individuals to our staff
from the IBS program. We now have herdsman and lab staff with over
20 years experience in semen collection and processing. Added to the
already strong lineup of experienced staff, we have skill and
knowledge unsurpassed in the entire industry.
Former IBS staff that are now part of the Alta production team:
Nelson
Weir - lab.
Al
McCoy - herdsman.
Shaina
Snyder – herd health - CFIA.
More
Recent additions:

2)
Housing
Two
facilities to accommodate “peak volumes” and minimize bio security
risks.
Consolidate to one facility at Balzac in the summer months.
State
of the art EU housing and collection facility added.
3)
Warehouse
Consolidated to one warehouse at Balzac
No
semen is stored or shipped from the old IBS building
With
recent bio security upgrades we require that your sires are pre
booked and the health papers are submitted to Alta for approval
before the bulls arrive. Remember to RFID/CCIA tag your bulls
before they leave the farm. We cannot unload bulls that are not
properly tagged.
